Sentara Health, formerly known as Sentara Healthcare, is a not-for-profit integrated healthcare delivery system headquartered in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Established in 1888, Sentara has grown to become one of the largest health systems in the U.S. Mid-Atlantic and Southeast regions, serving Virginia, northeastern North Carolina, and Florida.
The organization employs over 34,000 individuals and operates more than 500 sites of care. These include 12 acute care hospitals, advanced imaging centers, nursing and assisted-living facilities, outpatient campuses, rehabilitation services, home health agencies, and four medical groups.

Health Plans Division
Besides hospitals, Sentara Health operates the Sentara Health Plans division. This division serves over 1 million members in Virginia and Florida.
It offers a range of health insurance plans, including commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare options. This growing health plan division extends Sentara’s reach in healthcare coverage.
