Saval Foods LLC, established in 1932 by Harry and Flora Saval, is a fourth-generation, family-owned company headquartered in Elkridge, Maryland. Over the decades, it has evolved into the largest locally based, independent broadline foodservice distributor in the Mid-Atlantic region.

The company serves Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, Delaware, and Pennsylvania. It operates through three primary divisions to meet the diverse needs of foodservice operators.

Company Divisions

Saval Foodservice: delivers quality ingredients, culinary solutions, and personalized service to independent restaurants, delis, carry-out locations, and pizza shops. Their extensive catalog includes dry goods, groceries, disposables, seafood, cleaning supplies, bakery items, and beverages.

Deli Brands of America: the manufacturing arm producing premium deli meats and proteins distributed nationwide. Celebrating its 90th anniversary in 2022, this division has expanded its facilities to boost production capacity and efficiency.

1932 Specialty Produce & Meat: focuses on fresh produce and fresh-cut meat solutions for restaurants and institutions, ensuring high-quality, fresh ingredients to meet culinary needs.

Strategic Growth

In June 2025, Saval Foods expanded its portfolio by acquiring Pastore’s Italian Wholesale Distributor, a historic Baltimore-based company known for its Sun of Italy brand.

This acquisition enhances Saval's Italian product offerings and supports growth in both retail and foodservice sectors.
