About Samaritan Health Services

Samaritan Health Services is a non-profit, integrated healthcare system based in Corvallis, Oregon. It is dedicated to providing comprehensive medical care to residents of the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon Coast. Established in 1997 through the merger of Mid-Valley Healthcare in Lebanon and Samaritan Inc. in Corvallis, the organization has grown significantly.

Today, it encompasses five hospitals, over 110 physician clinics, and multiple health insurance plans. These services collectively serve approximately 300,000 individuals across Linn, Benton, Lincoln, and portions of Polk and Marion counties.

Hospitals and Medical Centers

Samaritan Health Services operates five hospitals, each offering a range of specialized services:

  • Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center: Located in Corvallis, this 188-bed teaching hospital serves as a Level II trauma center, providing advanced emergency care and various medical specialties.
  • Samaritan Albany General Hospital: Situated in Albany, this 79-bed facility functions as a Level III trauma center with comprehensive emergency services and specialized medical care.
  • Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital: A 25-bed critical access hospital in Lebanon, offering essential healthcare services to eastern Linn County.
  • Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital: Located in Lincoln City, this 25-bed critical access hospital serves residents and visitors of Lincoln County.
  • Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital: Based in Newport, this 25-bed acute care facility provides healthcare to the coastal community.

Physician Clinics and Urgent Care Centers

Beyond its hospitals, Samaritan Health Services operates over 110 physician clinics throughout the region. These clinics offer both primary and specialty care. Additionally, the organization manages seven Urgent Care Centers and three Express Care Clinics, providing accessible, same-day treatment for non-life-threatening conditions.

Health Insurance Plans

Samaritan Health Services also offers health insurance plans. This ensures community members have access to comprehensive coverage tailored to their specific needs.

Educational Partnerships

In 2011, Samaritan Health Services partnered with Western University of Health Sciences to establish the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific, Northwest (COMP-NorthWest). This medical school is situated on Samaritan’s 54-acre Health Sciences Campus in Lebanon.

This collaboration was significant as it marked the first medical school in Oregon in over a century. Its goal is to address the state's physician shortage and enhance medical education.

Community Engagement

With a workforce of nearly 7,000 employees and volunteers, Samaritan Health Services is among the largest non-profit employers in Oregon. The organization is committed to "building healthier communities together" and actively participates in local economic development and environmental preservation efforts.
