QuikTrip Corporation, commonly known as QuikTrip (QT), is a privately held American convenience store and gasoline service station chain headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Founded in 1958 by Burt Holmes and Chester Cadieux, the company has grown to operate over 1,100 locations across 17 states in the Midwestern, Southern, and Western United States.
The first QuikTrip store was opened in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1958. The company expanded outside of Oklahoma in 1968 and started selling gasoline in 1971. Chester's son, Chet Cadieux, Jr., is the current CEO.
Products and Services
QuikTrip offers a wide range of products and services to meet the needs of its customers. Its convenience stores provide gasoline, a variety of beverages, snacks, dairy products, and fresh food items.
The company is known for its "QT Kitchens", which offer made-to-order food, specialty drinks, and frozen treats at select locations.
Quality and Recognition
In 2005, QuikTrip and Chevron were the first two retailers to earn a "Top Tier" rating from several major car manufacturers including General Motors, BMW, Honda, Volkswagen, Audi, and Toyota. This rating exceeds the United States Environmental Protection Agency's standards for gasoline additives.
QuikTrip has also been recognized for its workplace culture and employee satisfaction. In 2006, it ranked No. 21 on Fortune's "100 Best Companies to Work For" list, and in 2008, it ranked No. 27.
In 2024, QuikTrip ranked second in the American Customer Satisfaction Index's survey of convenience stores, behind Pennsylvania-based chain Wawa.
