About Pumphouse Brewery
Pumphouse Brewery, established in 1996, is a renowned brewpub located in Longmont, Colorado. Over the years, it has become a cornerstone of the local craft beer scene, offering a diverse selection of house-made beers and a welcoming atmosphere for patrons of all ages.
Brewery and Beers
The brewery operates a 10-barrel brewing system, producing over 1,300 barrels annually. Their year-round offerings include:
- Firelight Kölsch: A refreshing German-style ale with understated hop and malt character, light-bodied and low in bitterness.
- Wildfire: An American-style wheat beer, smooth and crisp with soft maltiness and subtle citrus notes.
- Flashpoint: An American IPA, robustly bitter with bright citrus flavor and aroma, complemented by light notes of caramel and honey malts.
- Overflow: A New England-style IPA, bright and hazy with hop flavors and aromas of tropical fruit and citrus, well-balanced and smooth.
- Red Alert: An amber ale, flavorful and balanced with notes of caramel, nuts, and toffee, medium-bodied and satisfying.
Seasonal offerings rotate regularly, featuring creative brews like the Altweg Pilsner, Amber Waves Red IPA, and Passion Fruit Gose. Notably, the brewery has won multiple awards, including gold medals at the Colorado State Fair and the U.S. Open Beer Championship.
Food and Dining Experience
The Pumphouse Brewery offers a diverse menu catering to various tastes, from classic pub fare to more adventurous dishes. Signature items include wings, burgers, seared tuna salad, and Tuscan Alfredo pasta.
Unique offerings incorporate their own beers, such as Flashpoint IPA beer-battered fish and chips and Wildfire beer cheese fondue.
The venue features bi-level dining rooms with a firehouse theme, providing a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The Red Zone, added in 2004, is a contemporary sports bar accommodating over 250 people, equipped with numerous televisions for sports enthusiasts.
The expansive outdoor patio offers a pet-friendly environment, complete with a misting system for summer and radiant heaters for cooler days.

In 2023, Pumphouse Brewery transitioned to an employee-owned model, with approximately 100 employees currently owning 10% of the business, aiming to reach 80% ownership over the next two decades.
This shift has fostered a deeper connection between the staff and the community, ensuring the brewery remains a cherished local establishment.
