Pueblo Community Health Center (PCHC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive primary health care services to the residents of Pueblo County, Colorado. Established in 1983, PCHC has grown to become a vital resource for the community, offering a wide range of medical, dental, and behavioral health services.
Medical Services
PCHC's medical services encompass preventive care, routine check-ups, immunizations, family planning, and treatment for both acute and chronic conditions. The center is staffed by board-certified family practice physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, and nurse midwives, ensuring high-quality care.
Additionally, PCHC operates an on-site pharmacy and laboratory facilities, streamlining the healthcare experience for its patients.
Dental Services
Recognizing the importance of oral health, PCHC offers dental care services regardless of a patient's ability to pay. Services include preventive care such as exams, x-rays, and cleanings, periodontal care (deep cleanings), fillings, extractions, root canals, and dentures.
The dental team comprises licensed and trained dentists and staff who cater to patients from pediatrics to seniors.
Behavioral Health Services
PCHC provides behavioral health services to support individuals facing mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety, grief, and trauma. Licensed therapists offer solution-focused therapy for individuals, families, and couples.
Additional services include psychotherapy, acudetox, group therapy, crisis intervention, and access to psychiatric medication consultation.
Prenatal and Women's Health Services
The center offers comprehensive prenatal and women's health services, including free pregnancy tests, prenatal care, delivery, postpartum care, breastfeeding education and support, newborn care, ultrasounds, and fetal monitoring.
Other offerings are prematurity prevention sessions, childbirth classes, birth control, and home visits. Care is provided by certified nurse midwives or physicians, with supportive partnerships with local programs.
School-Based Wellness Centers
In collaboration with Pueblo School Districts 60 and 70, PCHC operates School-Based Wellness Centers at Central High School and Pueblo County High School. These centers aim to provide accessible health services to students, promoting overall well-being within the school community.

In 2024, PCHC served 25,399 patients, provided 92,474 medical visits, 13,355 dental visits, and 13,819 behavioral health visits. Notably, PCHC delivered 404 babies, accounting for one out of every four births in Pueblo County.
