During his service in the U.S. Navy, Vic was responsible for sprinkler systems aboard naval ships and vessels. After active duty, he obtained NICET certification while working for Schirmer Engineering. He later worked for large architectural and engineering firms.

Vic's passion for fire protection led him to gain experience in plans reviewing, permitting services, inspection, and testing. Combining these experiences, he founded Portside Consulting to provide specialized services in these areas.
