Portland Parks Golf is a comprehensive public golf system managed by Portland Parks & Recreation (PP&R) in Portland, Oregon. Established in 1918, it has a rich history of providing affordable and accessible golf experiences to residents and visitors.

The system comprises five distinct golf courses, each offering unique challenges and amenities.

Golf Courses

  • Heron Lakes Golf Club: Located in North Portland, it features two championship courses designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr. The Great Blue Course is known for its challenging layout with numerous bunkers and water hazards. The Greenback Course offers a parkland-style design with large raised greens and tree-lined fairways. Both courses provide breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains.
  • Colwood Golf Center: Situated in Northeast Portland, Colwood is a 9-hole, par-3 course catering to golfers of all skill levels. It features wide-open fairways and large, undulating greens, ideal for beginners and experienced players. The center also offers a driving range, free practice areas, and a footgolf course.
  • Rose City Golf Course: Established in 1923 and located in Northeast Portland, this course is Oregon’s second-oldest municipal course. It boasts a classic, tree-lined 18-hole layout with hidden bunkers and strategic design. The Rose City Grill serves breakfast, lunch, and snacks in a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Eastmoreland Golf Course: Found in Southeast Portland, this 18-hole championship course is surrounded by Crystal Springs Lake, the Rhododendron Gardens, and Johnson Creek. The course is known for its scenic beauty and diverse tree and shrub species, providing a picturesque golfing setting.
  • RedTail Golf Course: Located in Beaverton, just west of Portland, RedTail is an 18-hole course offering a challenging layout with well-maintained greens and fairways, catering to golfers of all levels.
