Petro Star Inc. is Alaska's only locally owned and operated petroleum refining and marketing company, with over 40 years of experience serving the state's diverse fuel needs.

As a wholly owned subsidiary of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation (ASRC), Petro Star is committed to enhancing the cultural and economic freedom of more than 14,000 Iñupiaq shareholders.

Refining Operations

Petro Star operates two refineries in Alaska:

• North Pole Refinery: Established in 1985, this 22,000-barrel-per-day facility produces heating fuel, turbine fuel, diesel, jet fuels, and asphalt base oil.
• It serves residential, commercial, industrial, and military customers, ensuring a consistent, dependable, and high-quality product.
• Valdez Refinery: Completed in 1993, this 60,000-barrel-per-day refinery produces ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD), Arctic Grade #1 diesel, military and commercial grade jet fuel, JP5, heating oil, and marine diesel.
• It is one of only two in-state refineries capable of producing ULSD.

Fuel Distribution and Retail Services

Through its brands North Pacific Fuel and Sourdough Fuel, Petro Star offers comprehensive fuel distribution and retail services:

• Sourdough Fuel: Operating in Fairbanks, this brand provides heating fuel, diesel, and lubricants, with 24-hour "pay at the pump" services.
• It also operates convenience stores offering a variety of products.
• North Pacific Fuel: Serving Kodiak, Dutch Harbor, and Valdez, this brand offers marine fueling services, lubricants, and supplies.
• It caters to the fishing and maritime industries.

Lubricants Division

Petro Star Lubricants is a bulk lube repackaging company headquartered in Anchorage.

It imports lubricating oils in bulk, repackages them, and distributes finished products to industrial customers throughout Southcentral, Western, Northern, and Interior Alaska.

The division provides technical services, including lube oil seminars and individual consultations, to ensure customers select the right product for their equipment and operating conditions.

• Kodiak: North Pacific Fuel operates two Gas-N-Go stations providing fuel and convenience items.
• Dutch Harbor: North Pacific Fuel operates marine fueling facilities supporting fishing and maritime industries.
• Valdez: Valdez Refinery produces various fuels serving clients in southwestern Alaska and Canada.
