Orlando Eye

The Orlando Eye, now known as The Orlando Eye by Merlin Entertainments, is a 400-foot-tall observation wheel located in the heart of Orlando, Florida. As the tallest observation attraction on the U.S. East Coast, it offers visitors unparalleled 360-degree views of Central Florida's iconic landmarks. These include nearby theme parks, downtown Orlando, and the Kennedy Space Center.

History and Ownership

Originally opened on May 4, 2015, the attraction has undergone several name changes. It was initially called the Orlando Eye, then renamed the Coca-Cola Orlando Eye in 2016, followed by Icon Orlando in 2018, and The Wheel at Icon Park Orlando in 2019.

In March 2024, Merlin Entertainments, known for attractions like the London Eye, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, and Madame Tussauds Orlando, acquired the observation wheel and restored its original name, The Orlando Eye.

Ride Features

The Orlando Eye features 30 air-conditioned glass capsules, each capable of accommodating up to 15 guests. The serene 20-minute journey provides a comfortable and smooth experience, allowing visitors to enjoy panoramic views without any sensation of swinging.

The wheel's design incorporates a stabilized-driven system combined with suspended "ski lift" capsules, ensuring a stable and enjoyable ride.
