Oregon Health & Science University

Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is Oregon's only public academic health center, dedicated to improving the health and quality of life for all Oregonians through excellence, innovation, and leadership in health care, education, and research.

Established in 1887, OHSU is a comprehensive institution encompassing a medical school, nursing school, dental school, and a school of public health. It operates a network of hospitals and clinics across Oregon and southwest Washington, including the OHSU Hospital, Doernbecher Children's Hospital, and OHSU Health Hillsboro Medical Center.

Main Campus

The university's main campus on Marquam Hill in Portland, Oregon, houses the OHSU Hospital, a Level I trauma center, and Doernbecher Children's Hospital, specializing in pediatric care. Adjacent is the Portland Veterans Affairs Medical Center, connected via a skybridge.

Research Initiatives

OHSU's research initiatives are extensive, with thousands of scientists developing lifesaving therapies and advancing medical knowledge. The Oregon National Primate Research Center in Hillsboro is among seven federally funded National Primate Research Centers in the U.S. and has been affiliated with OHSU since 1998.
