About Oakland Community College

Oakland Community College (OCC), established in 1964, is the largest community college in Michigan. It offers a wide array of academic programs and services across five campuses in Oakland County.

Academic Programs

OCC provides nearly 100 certificate and degree programs, including associate degrees in applied science, arts, business administration, and science. The college also offers specialized programs in diverse fields such as automotive servicing, baking and pastry arts, cybersecurity, culinary arts, dental hygiene, early childhood education, emergency medical services, fire fighter technology, graphic design, health care administration, hospitality management, HVAC/R, industrial technology, interior design, library services, medical assisting, mental health, nursing, paralegal studies, pre-engineering, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, robotics, sign language interpretation, supply chain management, surgical technology, transfer studies, and welding/fabrication technology.

Student Life and Athletics

The college's athletic teams, known as the Owls, compete in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and the Michigan Community College Athletic Association (MCCAA). Men's varsity sports include basketball, cross-country, and golf.

Women's varsity sports include basketball, cross-country, and softball. OCC also has a competitive speech and performance forensics team that has achieved both State and National champions.

Online Education

In addition to in-person classes, OCC offers online courses. This provides flexibility for students to complete degrees and certificates entirely online.
