About Newark Board of Education
The Newark Board of Education (NBOE) is the governing body responsible for overseeing the Newark Public Schools (NPS) district in Newark, New Jersey. Established in 1995, NBOE has played a pivotal role in shaping the educational landscape of Newark. It ensures that students from pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade receive quality education.

Leadership
Leadership within NBOE has seen significant developments. In May 2023, Asia Norton was elected as the new president.
