About Mount Hood Community College

Mt. Hood Community College (MHCC), established in 1966, is a public community college located in Gresham, Oregon, United States. The college offers a diverse range of educational programs and services designed to meet the needs of its students and the broader community.

Academic Programs and Services

MHCC provides over 120 professional and technical programs, including degrees and certificates in fields such as nursing, automotive technology, integrated media, and business management. The college also offers university transfer opportunities, allowing students to begin their four-year degree at MHCC before transferring to a four-year institution.

In addition to traditional academic programs, MHCC offers specialized services such as the General Educational Development (GED) program, which prepares adults for the GED test and entry into degree or certificate programs. The Intensive English for College and Careers (IECC) program assists non-native English speakers in improving their academic English skills.

The International Student Program supports students from around the world in achieving their educational goals.

Student Life and Community Engagement

MHCC fosters a vibrant student life with nearly 30 student clubs, an active student government, and a student newspaper, The Advocate. The college is also home to KMHD, a non-profit FM jazz radio station that has been serving the Portland community since 1984.

Athletics

The college's athletic teams, known as the Saints, compete in the Northwest Athletic Conference. Men's sports include baseball, basketball, track and field, and cross country.

Women's sports encompass volleyball, softball, basketball, track and field, and cross country.
