Mercy Housing, Inc. is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating stable, vibrant, and healthy communities by developing, financing, and operating affordable, program-enriched housing for families, seniors, and individuals with special needs who lack the economic resources to access quality, safe housing opportunities.

Founded in 1981, Mercy Housing has become one of the nation's largest affordable housing organizations. It participates in the development, preservation, management, and financing of affordable housing across the United States.

The organization acquires and renovates existing housing and develops new affordable rental properties, serving over 250,000 people in 45 states and Puerto Rico.

Regional Divisions

Mercy Housing operates through several regional divisions, each focusing on specific geographic areas:

• Mercy Housing California: The largest regional division, with offices in San Francisco, Sacramento, and Los Angeles.
• Mercy Housing Lakefront: Serving Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin.
• Mercy Housing Mountain Plains: Operating in Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Utah.
• Mercy Housing Northwest: Serving Washington and Idaho.
• Mercy Housing Southeast: Operating in Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, and Tennessee.

Presence in California

In California, Mercy Housing has developed and/or manages more than 159 affordable housing complexes in 36 counties.

These complexes provide nearly 11,500 homes and serve over 20,500 people in need.

Resident Services

Beyond housing, Mercy Housing offers resident services to support individuals in living to their full potential. These services include:
