Manhattan Yacht Club

Manhattan Yacht Club (MYC) is a premier sailing organization dedicated to providing exceptional maritime experiences in the New York Harbor. Established in 1987, the club has grown to encompass a diverse community of sailing enthusiasts.

It offers a range of programs and facilities tailored to both novice and experienced sailors to enhance their sailing skills and enjoyment.

Clubhouse and Facilities

MYC's primary land-based facility is located at Liberty Harbor Marina in Jersey City, New Jersey. This location, established in 2015 after 28 years in Manhattan, offers calm waters for docking and ample space for the club's extensive fleet.

Amenities at this site include a clubhouse, grassy areas, a flagpole, BBQs, and locker rooms. The address is 140 Dudley St., Jersey City, NJ 07302, easily accessible from Manhattan via PATH, ferry, or car services.

In addition to the land-based clubhouse, MYC operates a floating clubhouse known as the "Honorable William Wall". Anchored in New York Harbor near Ellis Island from May through October, this venue serves as a spectator platform for sailboat races and is open to the public.

Flagship Vessel

The club's flagship is the "Arabella," a 157-foot three-masted schooner. During the summer, Arabella hosts corporate charters in New York Harbor and member events.

In 2024, she participated in the Newport to Bermuda Race, offering members the opportunity to engage in one of the most renowned ocean races. Arabella also offers week-long charters to destinations such as Newport, Nantucket, and Martha's Vineyard.

Membership and Programs

MYC offers various programs catering to different skill levels, including racing, cruising, and sailing education. The club fosters an inclusive environment encouraging individuals of all ages and backgrounds to learn and enjoy sailing.

Members have access to a fleet of J/24s and participate in regular racing events, cultivating a vibrant sailing community.
