MAINE VETERANS HOMES

Maine Veterans' Homes (MVH) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to providing comprehensive care and support to Maine's veterans and their families. Established in 1977, MVH operates six facilities across the state. Each facility offers a range of services tailored to meet the unique needs of veterans.

• Memory Care: Specialized care for veterans with Alzheimer's disease or other dementias, offering a secure environment and tailored activities.
• Residential Care: Assisted living services promoting independence while ensuring safety and well-being.
• Respite Care: Temporary relief for primary caregivers, allowing breaks while ensuring loved ones receive quality care.

Quality and Recognition

The organization is committed to maintaining high standards of care. The Scarborough facility was the first in Maine to receive the National Gold Award for Excellence in Quality from the American Health Care Association.

In addition to direct care services, MVH actively engages in advocacy to ensure veterans receive deserved benefits. The organization has worked with Maine's Congressional delegation to address funding challenges and secure reimbursements for domiciliary care.
