Linden Oaks

Linden Oaks, formerly known as the Speech and Language Development Center (SLDC), is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with diverse abilities. Established in 1955, Linden Oaks has been serving the Southern California community for over 70 years. It provides a comprehensive range of services designed to support children and adults in achieving their fullest potential.

Educational Programs

Linden Oaks offers specialized K-12+ education programs tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. These programs foster academic growth, social development, and emotional well-being. The curriculum emphasizes critical life skills, including coping mechanisms, stress management, emotional regulation, and effective communication.

By focusing on these areas, Linden Oaks equips students with the tools necessary to navigate a rapidly changing world.

Therapy Services

In addition to educational programs, Linden Oaks provides a variety of therapy services to support individuals with special needs. These include speech and language therapy, occupational therapy, and behavioral therapy, delivered by a team of experienced and compassionate professionals.

The goal is to enhance communication skills, promote independence, and improve overall quality of life for clients.

Adult Day Programming

For adults aged 22 to 45, Linden Oaks offers adult day programming focusing on vocational training, life skills development, and community integration. This program helps individuals build independence and prepare for meaningful employment opportunities.

Participants engage in activities promoting personal growth and social engagement, supported through a mix of private and regional center funding.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Linden Oaks has introduced an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adolescents aged 12 to 18, addressing challenges such as social anxiety disorders, generalized anxiety disorders, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders, and Asperger's syndrome. The IOP focuses on developing coping skills, stress management techniques, emotional regulation, and social communication abilities.

Group therapy sessions provide peer support, while family involvement ensures a holistic approach to treatment.

Community Engagement and Support

Linden Oaks is deeply committed to community engagement and support. In November 2024, the organization received the Anaheim Ducks Foundation Fly Together Grant, enabling the expansion of adaptive technology and creation of engaging campus experiences that promote wellness, creativity, and growth.

Additionally, Linden Oaks has established partnerships with over 50 public school districts. This facilitates a healthy transition for teens to flourish in their home school settings while maintaining their privacy.
