Lexington Sporting Club: A Professional Soccer Organization

Lexington Sporting Club (LSC) is a professional soccer organization based in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded in 2021, the club is dedicated to fostering the growth and development of soccer at all levels.

LSC has quickly expanded its presence by fielding men's and women's professional teams as well as running comprehensive youth and academy programs.

Professional Teams

LSC's men's team competes in the USL Championship, which is the second tier of professional soccer in the United States. In August 2024, the club announced its elevation to this league for the 2025 season, marking a significant milestone.

The women's team plays in the USL Super League, the premier division for women's soccer in the country. Both teams play their home matches at the Lexington SC Stadium.

This stadium opened in September 2024 and is a 7,500-seat, soccer-specific venue designed to provide an exceptional experience for both players and fans.

Youth and Academy Programs

LSC emphasizes youth development through its academy system. The academy offers a structured pathway for young athletes, combining training with competitive opportunities.

LSC is deeply committed to community engagement, reflecting Lexington's rich heritage and traditions. The club's branding incorporates local cultural elements.

This includes typography inspired by bourbon barrels and a stylized horse symbolizing Lexington as the "Horse Capital of the World."

Rivalries

The club has established notable rivalries, especially with One Knoxville SC, based on their concurrent entry into USL League One in 2023.

This rivalry, called "The Battle of the Barrel," is fueled by regional proximity and competitive matches between the teams.
