About Lahieres Taverne LLC
Lahiere's Restaurant was a historic dining establishment located in Princeton, New Jersey, renowned for its upscale French cuisine and elegant ambiance. Established in 1919, it became a cherished institution in the Princeton community. It served generations of patrons, including notable figures such as Albert Einstein and Bruce Springsteen.
The restaurant was situated at 11 Witherspoon Street, a prime location in downtown Princeton. Its menu featured classic French dishes, including:
- Roasted chicken breast with goat cheese-potato puree
- Grilled calves liver
- Honey-glazed roasted duck
- Grilled filet of beef
- Sesame-crusted yellowfin tuna
- Pan-roasted Atlantic salmon
Lahiere's was also celebrated for its exceptional wine list, recognized by Wine Spectator magazine as one of the top three in the state.
After 91 years of operation, Lahiere's closed its doors in 2010. The space was subsequently transformed into Agricola, a farm-to-table restaurant that opened in late 2012, continuing the tradition of fine dining in the same location.
As of July 2025, Lahiere's Restaurant is no longer in operation.
