About Kuakini Medical Center
Kuakini Medical Center, located at 347 North Kuakini Street in Honolulu, Hawaii, is a nonprofit, 250-bed acute care hospital. It has been serving the community since its establishment in 1900. As the last existing hospital in the United States founded by Japanese immigrants, it holds a unique place in Hawaii's healthcare history.
The hospital offers a comprehensive range of services, including ambulatory care, cardiovascular services, emergency services, gastrointestinal services, geriatric care, imaging services, oncology services, orthopedic and spine programs, pulmonary services, rehabilitation services, and a sleep center.
It is a tertiary teaching hospital affiliated with the University of Hawaii’s John A. Burns School of Medicine, School of Public Health, and School of Social Work, as well as other local educational institutions.
Accreditation and Membership
Kuakini Medical Center is accredited by the Joint Commission and certified by Medicare and Medicaid programs. The hospital is also a member of the Premier group purchasing alliance, which includes approximately 3,000 hospitals and 110,000 healthcare providers.
Additional Facilities
In addition to its main hospital, Kuakini Health System operates the Kuakini Geriatric Care facility, a 234-bed nursing home and adult day care center for Honolulu's senior citizens. The system also maintains two medical office buildings:

- Kuakini Physicians Tower
These buildings house numerous physician offices and support services.
