Kraken Community Iceplex Overview

Kraken Community Iceplex, located in Seattle, Washington, serves as the official practice facility and team headquarters for the NHL's Seattle Kraken. Opened on September 10, 2021, within the Northgate Station mixed-use development, the Iceplex is dedicated to fostering the growth of ice sports in the Seattle area.

Facility Features

The Iceplex boasts three NHL-sized ice rinks, providing ample space for various ice sports activities. Additional amenities include 12 locker rooms, two meeting rooms, the 32 Bar & Grill, the Kraken Team Store, and the Starbucks Community Store.

The facility also houses the Kraken Staff HQ, a training space for the team, and the Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Medical Pavilion.

Community Engagement

Kraken Community Iceplex is committed to making ice sports accessible to all. The facility offers programs for youth and adult hockey, figure skating, and public skating sessions.

Special events, such as themed skates and sensory-friendly sessions, are regularly organized to engage the community. The Iceplex also hosts the Seattle Jr. Kraken, a USA Hockey-sanctioned team competing at various levels.

Partnerships and Community Impact

In June 2021, Kraken Community Iceplex entered a multi-year partnership with Starbucks, designating the Starbucks Community Store within the facility as the 21st in the nation.

A portion of the store's proceeds supports the Kraken and Climate Pledge Arena's One Roof Foundation and other local nonprofit organizations.
