Kendal Crosslands Communities is a not-for-profit Life Plan Community located in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, offering a comprehensive continuum of care for individuals aged 65 and older. Established in the early 1970s with a generous grant from the Philadelphia Yearly Meeting of the Religious Society of Friends, the community is deeply rooted in Quaker values that emphasize simplicity, peace, integrity, community, and equality.
The community spans over 500 acres in the picturesque Brandywine Valley, featuring four distinct campuses: Kendal at Longwood, Crosslands, Coniston, and Cartmel. Each campus offers unique living arrangements and amenities, fostering a vibrant and engaging environment for its residents.
Campuses
Kendal at Longwood was the first Life Plan Community established on the campus, offering residential-style cottages reminiscent of an English village. Located adjacent to Longwood Gardens, it provides a serene setting with easy access to cultural and metropolitan life in Philadelphia and Wilmington, Delaware.
Crosslands, founded five years after Kendal at Longwood, offers a variety of floor plans ranging from one-bedroom apartments to two-bedroom cottages with dens. Amenities include:
