Jungle Island, formerly known as Parrot Jungle, is a renowned eco-adventure park located on Watson Island in Miami, Florida. Established in 1936, it has evolved into a premier destination that seamlessly blends wildlife encounters, adventure activities, and educational experiences.
Animal Encounters and Exhibits
The park is home to over 450 animal species, including unique inhabitants like Hercules, a 900-pound liger, and twin orangutans named Peanut and Pumpkin. Visitors can engage in interactive experiences with lemurs, sloths, flamingos, and other exotic creatures.
Educational presentations, such as the "Winged Wonders" show featuring a free-flying Andean condor and the world's only trained cassowary, Mama Cass, provide insights into animal behaviors and conservation.
