He and his family sold fresh, local fruit to neighbors and passers-by for years – until 1967, when Gaspare’s son, Joe Sr., started a full-service produce market. That small store grew into what is now one of the most recognized and respected names in the Detroit area: Joe’s Produce Gourmet Market. Through the years, with each addition and advancement in the business, Joe’s Produce has remained dedicated to serving local needs and sourcing products from Michigan farms and fields.
