Houston Christian University (HCU), formerly known as Houston Baptist University, is a private Christian institution located in Houston, Texas. Established in 1960, HCU offers a comprehensive range of undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs across various disciplines.

Rebranding and Growth
In September 2022, the university underwent a significant rebranding, changing its name from Houston Baptist University to Houston Christian University. This decision was made to more accurately reflect the diverse student body and the faculty, staff, alumni, and community it serves.
The name change is part of a broader growth campaign aimed at expanding the residential campus to 4,200 students and the online campus to 5,800 students, with a combined goal of reaching 10,000 students.
