About Hotel Daphne

Hotel Daphne is a boutique hotel located in the historic Houston Heights neighborhood, set to open in early 2025. This establishment is the latest project from Bunkhouse Hotels, an Austin-based hospitality group renowned for its commitment to design, music, and authentic community-driven experiences.

The hotel will feature 47 rooms and suites, an all-day restaurant, a ground-floor bar and lounge, a courtyard, a pool with a pool bar, a library, and a lobby retail shop. The design draws inspiration from the architectural charm of the Heights, blending seamlessly into the neighborhood's recycled industrial style.

The five-story building will showcase elements like painted brick, stepped parapets, and steel-framed windows, reflecting the area's historic aesthetic.

Name Inspiration

The name "Daphne" is inspired by Greek mythology, where Daphne, the daughter of the river god Peneus, transformed herself into a laurel tree to escape Apollo's romantic advances.

This mythological tale encapsulates the hotel's essence, mirroring the delicate, sweet, and spicy nature of the laurel plant.

Hotel Daphne is centrally located at 347 West 20th Street, within the historic Houston Heights neighborhood near the bustling 19th Street shopping district.
