Hospice Of Acadiana Inc

Hospice of Acadiana, Inc., established in 1983, is the only nonprofit hospice provider in the Acadiana region of Louisiana. Over the past four decades, it has served more than 30,000 patients and their families, offering compassionate end-of-life care regardless of financial means.

Comprehensive Services Offered

• Hospice Care: Focuses on enhancing the quality of life for individuals in the final stages of a terminal illness. The care team includes physicians, registered nurses, certified home health aides, social workers, chaplains, and trained volunteers, all dedicated to providing comfort and dignity to patients.
• Palliative Care: Aims to alleviate symptoms and stress associated with serious illnesses, improving the patient's overall quality of life. This service is available to individuals at any stage of a serious illness and can be provided alongside curative treatments.
• Grief Counseling: Through the Center for Loss & Transition, Hospice of Acadiana offers free bereavement services to individuals and families coping with loss. Services include individual counseling, support groups, workshops, and Camp Brave Hearts, a summer camp for grieving children aged 7-11.
• Calcutta House: An inpatient hospice facility designed to provide state-of-the-art care in a tranquil, residential setting. Open 24/7, it features 12 private patient suites, family consultation rooms, a full-size family kitchen, a chapel, and meditation gardens.
