About Hawaiian Host Group
Hawaiian Host Group (HHG) is a Hawai‘i-based consumer goods and agricultural manufacturing company, renowned as the world's largest branded macadamia nut producer. Established in 1927, HHG has expanded its portfolio to include several esteemed brands: Hawaiian Host, Mauna Loa, MacFarms, KOHO, and Kapua Orchards.
These brands offer a diverse range of products, from flavored macadamia nuts and artisan chocolates to macadamia milk-based ice cream. Their products cater to consumers in over 23 countries.
History and Growth
The company's journey began in 1927 when John Dye and Georgina Dias founded Ellen Dye Candies in Honolulu. They pioneered the creation of chocolate-dipped macadamia nuts.
In 1960, Mamoru and Aiko Takitani acquired the company, renaming it Hawaiian Host. They refined the chocolate-covered macadamia nut recipe and expanded the brand into markets including the Mainland U.S., Japan, and Singapore.
