Hawaiʻi Gas: Hawaiʻi's Sole Regulated Gas Utility
Hawaiʻi Gas, established in 1904 as the Honolulu Gas Company, Ltd., is the only government-franchised, full-service gas utility in Hawaiʻi. Over the past 120 years, the company has provided safe, reliable, and affordable energy solutions to residential, commercial, and industrial customers across the Hawaiian Islands.
The company operates an extensive gas pipeline infrastructure and bulk storage facilities, ensuring a consistent supply of energy to its customers. Hawaiʻi Gas is committed to environmental stewardship and was the first in the state to capture and process Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) from the Honouliuli Wastewater Treatment Plant on Oʻahu in 2018, supporting the state's clean energy goals.
