Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the community through the power of work. By repurposing donated goods, Goodwill creates opportunities for individuals to learn new skills, find employment, build careers, and provide for themselves and their families.

In 2024, Goodwill repurposed over 20 million items, supported more than 11,000 participants, and achieved a 96% employment retention rate for graduates over six months.

Services and Programs

Beyond its well-known retail stores, Goodwill offers a range of services aimed at fostering personal and professional growth. These include tuition-free career training programs in high-demand fields such as information technology, banking, construction, and trades.

Additionally, Goodwill provides job search support, family stability services, and business services like customizable workplace training and corporate donations and recycling.

Retail Stores and Specialty Shops

Goodwill operates 36 retail stores across the Southern Piedmont region, offering a variety of shopping experiences. Specialty stores include:

• GW: A Goodwill Boutique, featuring affordable designer and name-brand apparel
• The GRID: Powered by Goodwill, a technology store offering new and refurbished electronics
• Second Editions: A Goodwill Outlet Store, where shoppers can find items priced by weight

Training Centers

The organization also runs the Goodwill Opportunity Campus and the Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. These centers provide resources and training to help individuals uncover their passions and enhance their skill sets.
