Goodwill

Goodwill Industries International Inc., commonly known as Goodwill, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing job training, employment placement services, and other community-based programs for individuals facing barriers to employment.

Founded in 1902 by The Reverend Edgar J. Helms in Boston, Massachusetts, Goodwill has grown into a global network operating in 14 countries, including the United States, Canada, and several others.

The organization's primary mission is to enhance the dignity and quality of life for individuals and families by strengthening communities, eliminating barriers to opportunity, and helping people in need reach their full potential through the power of work.

Goodwill achieves this mission by operating a network of over 3,200 retail thrift stores, which serve as the backbone of its funding model. These stores sell donated goods, and the proceeds are reinvested into various programs and services aimed at empowering individuals to achieve self-sufficiency.
