About Future Bars Group

Future Bars Group is a prominent hospitality company based in San Francisco, renowned for its innovative and eclectic bar concepts that have significantly contributed to the city's vibrant nightlife scene.

Founded by entrepreneur Doug Dalton, the group has established a diverse portfolio of establishments, each offering unique experiences that blend exceptional service, creative cocktail menus, and immersive environments.

Signature Establishments

Among its most celebrated venues is Bourbon & Branch, a speakeasy-style bar that pays homage to the Prohibition era with its hidden entrances and classic cocktails.

Another notable establishment is The Devil’s Acre, which specializes in historic cocktails and offers a nostalgic ambiance reminiscent of the 19th century.

Pagan Idol introduces a tropical escape with its tiki-inspired décor and exotic drinks, while Rickhouse provides a modern twist on classic American cocktails in a rustic-chic setting.

Additionally, Local Edition offers a live jazz experience, and Zombie Village brings a unique tiki noir lounge atmosphere to the city.

Retail Ventures

In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Future Bars Group adapted by transforming some of its spaces into retail outlets. The Cask liquor stores emerged as a result, offering a curated selection of rare and artisanal spirits, including Japanese whiskeys and artisan mezcals.

This initiative allowed the company to continue serving its community while navigating the uncertainties of the pandemic.

Revival of Historic Venues

Demonstrating a commitment to preserving San Francisco's rich cultural heritage, Future Bars Group undertook the revival of The Dawn Club, a jazz speakeasy that was a downtown institution in the 1930s.

Located in the Monadnock Building at 10 Annie Street, the 4,000-square-foot venue reopened in May 2023, offering live jazz performances and stellar bar service led by Bourbon & Branch’s Jayson Wilde.

Community Engagement

Beyond its establishments, Future Bars Group is actively involved in community initiatives.

For instance, they have supported events like the opening of Rikki's, San Francisco's first dedicated women's sports bar, reflecting a nationwide boom in venues celebrating women's sports.
