Opened on December 25, 1929, the theater was originally designed as a lavish movie palace with a seating capacity of 4,665. Its unique design incorporates elements of Islamic and Egyptian architecture, featuring a starry sky ceiling with 96 embedded crystal "stars" and a projection of drifting clouds, creating an enchanting atmosphere for attendees.

Entertainment and Events

Over the years, the Fox Theatre has evolved into a premier destination for a wide array of live performances, including Broadway shows, concerts, comedy acts, and dance productions.

It hosts over 200 events annually, attracting more than 500,000 visitors each year. Notable events have included performances by artists such as Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, as well as concerts by bands like The Black Crowes and Kansas.

The theater is also home to the "Mighty Mo," a four-manual, 42-rank pipe organ with 3,622 pipes, making it one of the largest theater organs in the country.
