Mission and Services

The Fortune Society's mission is to support successful reentry from incarceration and promote alternatives to incarceration, thus strengthening the fabric of our communities. They provide a "one-stop-shop" model of service provision, offering in-house services to over 8,000 individuals with justice involvement.

Their services include:

• Housing Programs: Various programs such as Continuum of Care, MRT Permanent Supportive Housing, NY/NY III Families & Single Adults, and Re-Entry programs assist individuals in securing stable living situations.
• Substance Use Treatment: Outpatient treatment for adults and young adults includes cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, relapse prevention, and substance use counseling.
• Educational and Vocational Services: Educational opportunities include classes for illiteracy, general educational development testing, college preparation, and career services for skill building.
• Advocacy and Support: Advocacy for alternatives to incarceration and support services such as case management, peer mentoring, and social skills training aid in the transition process.
