Fort Bend Independent School District (FBISD), established in 1959, is a prominent public school district located in Fort Bend County, Texas. The district established Malala Yousafzai Elementary School in 2020, named after the Nobel laureate and education activist. This is reportedly the only school in the United States named after Malala, highlighting FBISD's commitment to promoting global awareness and education.
