Founded in 1977 by Dr. James Dobson in Arcadia, California, the organization began as a radio program. It has since expanded its reach through various media outlets, including daily and weekly radio broadcasts, a print magazine, children’s radio dramas, and a comprehensive website.

In 1991, Focus on the Family relocated its headquarters to Colorado Springs, Colorado. It operates a 47-acre campus that includes the Administration building, International building, Welcome Center, and Operations building.
Programs and Resources
The ministry offers a wide range of resources and programs to support families at every stage of their journey. Their flagship daily radio broadcast is hosted by President Jim Daly and co-host John Fuller. It provides practical advice and biblical guidance on topics related to family life.
