ENRICHMENT SERVICES PROGRAM

Enrichment Services Program (ESP) is a nonprofit Community Action Agency dedicated to empowering families in the Chattahoochee Valley region of Georgia and Alabama. Established in 1964, ESP serves over 10,000 low-income families annually across 11 counties in Georgia and Alabama.

ESP's service area includes the following counties:

• Chattahoochee, Clay, Harris, Meriwether, Muscogee, Quitman, Randolph, Stewart, Talbot, and Troup in Georgia
• Russell County in Alabama

Mission and Programs

ESP's mission is to eliminate poverty through education, services, and partnerships. The organization offers a comprehensive range of programs designed to promote self-sufficiency and improve quality of life.

Key programs offered include:

• Early Head Start and Head Start: National school readiness programs for children aged 3 to 5 and their families, offering education, health, nutrition, and parent involvement services.
• Energy Assistance: The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) aids families in paying home heating and cooling bills to ensure safe and livable homes during extreme temperatures.
• Employment Training Scholarship Program: Provides scholarships for classroom instruction and hands-on experience to become Certified Nursing Assistants, Facility Maintenance Technicians, or obtain a Commercial Driver's License.
• Case Management: An antipoverty reduction program offering personalized support and resources to encourage self-sufficiency among individuals and families.

Partnerships and Additional Services

In January 2022, ESP partnered with Columbus Water Works to launch the Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP). This initiative offers financial relief for water bills to eligible residents of Columbus, GA.

Service Centers

ESP operates Neighborhood Service Centers in eight of the eleven counties it serves, improving accessibility to its programs and resources for community members.
