About E-Z Mart
E-Z Mart Stores, Inc. is a family-owned convenience store chain that has been serving communities in the southern United States since its founding in 1970. Established by Jim and FaEllen Yates in Ashdown, Arkansas, the company began with a single store. It has since expanded to operate approximately 300 locations across Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Texas.
The company is led by CEO Sonja Yates Hubbard, daughter of the founders, and her husband, Bob Hubbard, who serves as President and COO. Other family members involved include CFO Stacy Yates and Board Chairman FaEllen Yates.
This strong family leadership has fostered a culture emphasizing community engagement and personalized service.
E-Z Mart's stores are typically situated in rural areas, often referred to as "Bubba Country," where they play a vital role in the daily lives of residents. The company operates under the slogan "Making Life EZR 4 U!" and strives to enhance the quality of life for its employees and customers.
This commitment is reflected in their support for local, regional, and national charities, as well as their focus on improving facilities, products, and customer service.
In 2018, E-Z Mart expanded its reach by selling 273 of its convenience stores to GPM Investments LLC, a move that allowed GPM to enter the Southwest market. This acquisition included stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas, marking a significant growth milestone for GPM.
