About Douglas County School District
Douglas County School District (DCSD) is the third-largest school district in Colorado, serving approximately 63,000 students from preschool through twelfth grade. Established in 1958 through the consolidation of 17 smaller districts, DCSD encompasses all of Douglas County and a portion of Elbert County.
The district operates 90 schools, including 48 elementary schools, 9 middle schools, 9 high schools, 6 alternative schools, and 18 charter schools. Notable high schools within the district include Castle View High School, Douglas County High School, Highlands Ranch High School, and ThunderRidge High School.
