About City Colleges of Chicago
City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) is the largest community college system in Illinois and one of the largest in the United States, serving approximately 77,000 students annually. Established in 1911, CCC has a long history of providing accessible and affordable education to the diverse communities of Chicago.
The system comprises seven independently accredited colleges, each specializing in specific fields.
Colleges and Specializations
- Harold Washington College: Located in the Loop, it focuses on business, entrepreneurship, and professional services.
- Harry S Truman College: Situated in Uptown, it offers programs in education, human, and natural sciences.
- Kennedy-King College: Found in Englewood, it specializes in culinary arts, hospitality, and construction technology.

- Work-based Learning: CCC aims to ensure that at least half of its graduates participate in work-based learning opportunities during their studies or immediately after graduation.
