Center City District (CCD) is a business improvement district dedicated to enhancing the vitality of downtown Philadelphia.

Established in 1991, CCD focuses on maintaining a clean, safe, and attractive environment for residents, workers, and visitors.

Operating within a 233-block area encompassing over 1,600 properties, CCD's mission is to support efforts that keep Philadelphia's downtown clean, safe, and attractive.

Services Provided

To achieve its objectives, CCD provides a range of services that supplement, but do not replace, basic services provided by the City of Philadelphia and the fundamental responsibilities of property owners.

• Cleaning Services: CCD crews ensure that downtown sidewalks are clean and graffiti-free seven days a week.
• Public Safety: The organization deploys public safety ambassadors to enhance the experience for workers, residents, and visitors.
• Homeless Outreach: In partnership with Project Home and the Philadelphia Police, CCD operates outreach teams to help individuals living on the streets connect with services and shelter.
• Streetscape Improvements: CCD works year-round to make downtown welcoming, brighter, safer, and more accessible by installing and maintaining lighting, signs, banners, trees, and landscape elements.
• Capital Projects: The organization is involved in various long-term projects to improve downtown Philadelphia, including plans for Market Street East and the next phase of The Rail Park.
