Cedar Point Club

Cedar Point Club, established in 1964, is a premier private club located at the confluence of the Nansemond and James Rivers in Suffolk, Virginia. The club offers a diverse range of amenities and activities designed to cater to the interests of its members and their families.

Golf Facilities

The centerpiece of Cedar Point Club is its 7,100-yard, 18-hole championship golf course, renovated in 2004 by renowned course architect Tom Clark. This par-72 layout features TifSport Bermuda tees and fairways, drought- and heat-resistant A1/A4 bent grass greens, and newly constructed capillary concrete bunkers.

The course ensures superb conditions year-round and has hosted four Virginia State Golf Association (VSGA) Men’s State Amateur Championships (1975, 1982, 2009, 2022). It is set to host the 2023 VSGA Women’s Amateur.

Additionally, the club offers a unique nine-hole, par-3 course providing spectacular vistas across the Tidewater area.

Tennis and Pickleball

Cedar Point Club boasts a comprehensive tennis and pickleball facility with:

• Four outdoor lighted Har-Tru clay courts
• Two indoor Deco-Turf courts
• Classes, camps, lessons, and leagues for all ages and skill levels
• Professional instruction led by USPTA Elite Professional Jan Talian
• A pro shop stocked with merchandise from brands like Wilson, Asics, and Nike

Aquatics Center

The club recently unveiled a new family aquatics center featuring a full-size pool with swimming lanes home to the Ironclad Swim Club. It also includes a water slide and a children's wading pool.

Adjacent to the pool is Riverwinds, the club’s poolside restaurant offering a relaxed dining experience with scenic river views.

Clubhouse and Dining

The Cedar Point Clubhouse offers both casual and private dining options, with panoramic views of the Nansemond River. Facilities include private meeting rooms, an art gallery, locker rooms, and a golfing center.

An outdoor terrace provides a relaxing space to mingle after activities. The clubhouse can accommodate private celebrations and events for up to 200 people.

Membership Options

Cedar Point Club offers a variety of membership options tailored to different age groups and interests:

• Junior Memberships: For individuals under 35
• Intermediate Memberships: For ages 35-44
• Full Membership: For ages 45-74
• Senior Membership: For those 75 and over
• Sports Membership: Access to aquatics, tennis, pickleball, dining, and social events for all ages
• Non-Resident Membership: For those living more than 40 minutes away wishing to enjoy the club experience

Event Hosting

The club hosts business, civic, charitable, and social events, including wedding ceremonies, receptions, rehearsal dinners, birthday parties, anniversaries, reunions, and holiday parties.

The Cedars on the Nansemond dining room accommodates approximately 140 guests with stunning outdoor views.

Management and Location

In June 2023, Cedar Point Club partnered with KemperSports, a leading golf, sports, entertainment, and hospitality company, to manage the facility. This partnership aims to enhance member engagement and strengthen the club's reputation as Southeast Virginia’s premier private club.
