CAMC Health System, formerly known as Charleston Area Medical Center, is a comprehensive healthcare provider based in Charleston, West Virginia. Established in 1971, it has grown to become the state's largest hospital system. It offers a wide array of medical services across multiple facilities.

Hospital Facilities

• CAMC Memorial Hospital: Located in the Kanawha City neighborhood, this hospital is renowned for its cardiac, oncology, and internal medicine services. It performs nearly 2,000 cardiac stent procedures, over 800 open-heart surgeries, and approximately 13,000 cardiac catheterizations annually.
• CAMC General Hospital: Situated downtown, it focuses on neurology, orthopedics, trauma, and rehabilitation care. The hospital is home to a Level 1 Trauma Center and West Virginia's only kidney transplant center.
• CAMC Women and Children's Hospital: As the state's only freestanding children's hospital, it offers the highest-level neonatal and pediatric intensive care. Annually, over 2,000 babies are born here, and more than 30 pediatric specialties are practiced.
• CAMC Teays Valley Hospital: Located in Putnam County, this community hospital provides primary and specialty care, including urology, oncology, and surgery.
• CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center: Added in 2023, this 122-bed facility offers inpatient and outpatient care, emergency services, surgical care, and diagnostic services.

In addition to these hospitals, CAMC Health System operates numerous outpatient centers, imaging facilities, and specialized clinics, ensuring comprehensive healthcare services are accessible to the community.

Recent Developments and Expansion

In 2022, CAMC merged with Mon Health System to form Vandalia Health, expanding its reach across West Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. This merger has enhanced the system's ability to provide high-quality, accessible, and affordable healthcare to a broader population.
