Billings Public Schools

Billings Public Schools (BPS) is the largest school district in Montana, serving approximately 16,000 students across 22 elementary schools, six middle schools, and three high schools.

Another initiative, the Billings Opportunity School (BOS), provides a personalized learning environment for students seeking an alternative to traditional high school settings.

BOS focuses on project and proficiency-based learning, integrating traditional academics with vocational courses such as coding, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and computer repair.

Each student is paired with a mentor to support their educational journey.

BPS is also dedicated to enhancing its workforce by offering competitive compensation.

In 2024, the district increased starting teacher salaries from $41,803 to $46,900 to attract and retain quality educators.
