About BECU

BECU, originally known as the Boeing Employees' Credit Union, is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative based in Tukwila, Washington. Established in 1935 by 18 Boeing employees, BECU has grown to become the largest credit union in Washington State and the fourth largest in the United States. It serves over 1.4 million members as of 2023.

As a cooperative, BECU is owned by its members, which drives its commitment to providing affordable and responsible financial services. The credit union offers a comprehensive range of products and services including savings and checking accounts, consumer loans, mortgages, credit cards, and online banking.

BECU operates over 60 locations throughout the Puget Sound region, Spokane, and South Carolina.

In 2025, BECU announced plans to open new Neighborhood Financial Centers in Kirkland and Stanwood, Washington, enhancing service in the Puget Sound area.

Access and Services

Members have access to a vast network of over 30,000 surcharge-free ATMs nationwide, including those in 7-Eleven stores. They can also use shared branching services at partner credit unions across the United States and in 13 countries.
