B&B Theatres, established in 1924, is a family-owned and operated American movie theater chain headquartered in Liberty, Missouri.

Over the decades, it has grown to become the fifth-largest theater chain in the United States, operating over 500 screens across 54 locations in 14 states.

These states include Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, and Washington.

Company Origins

The company's origins trace back to 1924 when Elmer Bills, Sr. founded Bills Theatres in Salisbury, Missouri.

In 1936, he hired 10-year-old Sterling Bagby as a concession clerk. Sterling later married Pauline, and together they established the Bagby Traveling Picture Show, which evolved into a Kansas circuit of drive-in and indoor theaters.

In 1980, the Bills and Bagby families merged their theater operations, forming B&B Theatres.
