Overview

The Alabama School of Mathematics and Science (ASMS) is a public residential high school located in Mobile, Alabama. It is dedicated to providing an advanced education in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to motivated students across the state.

Established in 1989, ASMS has a longstanding history of preparing students for higher education and careers in STEM fields.

In June 2024, ASMS inaugurated the Edward O. Wilson Science Research Center, a 32,000-square-foot state-of-the-art facility. Named after the renowned biologist and Mobile native, this center is the first of its kind in Alabama.

It supports advanced STEM studies and the ASMS Research Fellows Program, where students collaborate with faculty mentors on college-level research projects.
