About Academies of Math and Science
Academies of Math and Science (AMS) is a network of award-winning public charter schools dedicated to transforming underserved communities. They provide students with a rigorous education that prepares them for college and successful careers.
Operating primarily in Arizona, AMS offers tuition-free education for students from kindergarten through eighth grade. The curriculum emphasizes STEM while complementing it with music, foreign language, and sports programs.
Flagship Campus Recognition
The flagship campus in Tucson has been recognized as the highest-performing Title I K-8 charter school in Arizona. It serves a student population with over 70% qualifying for free or reduced-price lunch. This reflects AMS's commitment to quality education for low-income neighborhoods.
Academic Curriculum and Mission
AMS's curriculum is designed to challenge and engage students. It prepares them for competitive high school programs and ultimately, college. The network employs dedicated educators using effective teaching methods to ensure each student's success.
The mission is to provide all students, regardless of background or neighborhood, with opportunities to pursue higher education and a better life.
Extracurricular Programs
In addition to academics, AMS fosters a well-rounded experience. Students participate in extracurricular activities such as music, foreign language, and sports programs. These activities develop talents and interests beyond the classroom, supporting overall growth and success.
