This role focuses on maintaining the overall cleanliness and safety of the store environment, including the sales floor, seating areas, restrooms, and back offices. The position is vital for ensuring a positive customer and team member experience by adhering to Whole Foods Market's core values, quality standards, and health and safety regulations. As a maintenance team member, you will be responsible for performing duties such as completing daily and weekly cleaning tasks, supporting various store teams with cleaning projects, performing minor repairs and improvements, and participating in supply ordering to support store maintenance. The role also involves responding to emergencies, managing landscaping and parking lot upkeep, and continually cleaning all store departments to maintain a welcoming atmosphere.

The maintenance team member is expected to arrive promptly, present themselves professionally, and be prepared to work all scheduled shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Reporting safety hazards immediately and adhering to store, regional, and national leadership directives is also essential. This position provides a great opportunity for entry-level individuals with no prior retail experience to develop a strong work ethic, communication skills, and an understanding of Whole Foods Market culture. The physical demands require lifting up to 50 pounds, standing or walking for the majority of an 8-hour shift, and the ability to handle tools and equipment such as box cutters and electric pallet jacks. The wage range for this position is $17.00 to $25.40 per hour, commensurate with experience.
